Pavement Quality Indicator (PQI 301) The PQI 301 is designed and built to provide quick and accurate readings of density, temperature and moisture content on hot mix asphalt pavements. Unlike nuclear gauges, the PQI 301 takes accurate readings in about three seconds, allowing the test technician plenty of time to run a series of tests, then get out of the way of the roller. Over the past decade, the PQI has been used by numerous contractors, QC/QA facilities and highway officials, with superb results. The PQI is lightweight and easy to transport, calibrate and use. Its electromagnetic field is far safer than devices based on nuclear sources and it costs ten times less to own and operate. The PQI 301 now comes standard with a 12v charger.
